WHO AM I?

my name is kimberley — kimmy for short — i'm your 26 year old energetic + bubbly photographer!

my passion for photography stems from my childhood. my dad has beyond a thousand images in albums of me growing up into the vibrant human i am today.

the little moments like me unwrapping presents, doing weird poses while learning to walk, and just simple life things has driven me to be able to capture the same for others. he was also a canon fan, which is exciting to be able to keep the canon legacy going in my own hands.

for the past 3 years i’ve been so lucky to have been single-handedly running this little business of mine. i’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful people, all with different stories. my job is never dull and being a part of your day — even for 45 minutes — is something so rewarding to me.

it’s always hard to get to know the photographer in our short session time, so i thought this would be a great time to share some fun facts about me, and glow geraldton.

  • where are you from?

    i'm proudly thai-australian and born + raised in geraldton, western australia.

    it's been a very windy 26 years.

  • where did the name glow geraldton come from?

    glow geraldton actually came from a videogame! i played a gaming simulator, where i named by business glow gaming.

    it was just super convenient that glow is a synonym of light + photography is the art of light!

  • do you have any other passions other than photography?

    prior to becoming a photographer, i was a bartender which i had a lot of passion for — and can still whip up a mean cocktail. amaretto sour is my favourite!

    while in school, i wanted to be a veterinarian. i'm actually allergic to fur, so that would have been a very tough journey (and the reason why i take a healthy dose of claratyne prior to pet sessions!)

  • what's your favourite lens in your kit?

    my favourite lens i have currently is my 24-70 f/2.8. it is the one you'll see me with at all my sessions — including weddings and events.

    i would love to get my hands on a 28-70 f/2 but that's for future kimmy's christmas list.

  • what brand camera do you use?

    i’m a canon girl! you’ll see me with everything canon from my camera bodies + lenses.

  • what's something different you did with glow geraldton?

    before doing my certificate of photography, i started glow geraldton.

    it's super backwards but have absolutely no regrets whatsoever and learned way more about business + photography than a course could have ever taught me.

  • what are your hobbies?

    on my spare days off (which is quite rare) i love to snuggle up at home and play sims 4.

    i also love to rollerskate, play ukulele and spend time with family and friends.

OUR VISION

with glow geraldton's photography, my main vision is to create an affordable space for anyone to be photographed for the milestones or the small moments. with this, to be able to provide high quality images knowing you'll treasure them for life is something we strive for.

a photo session is a luxury to have. i wanted to make a business surrounding that this luxury is something anyone can receive without breaking the bank.

OUR STYLE

our style is signature to us and how you can perceive our photography from others in our town. over the past 3 years, we've perfected our style to how it is today.

we would call ourselves "bright, warm and vibrant", we love light and airy images that make you stand out.

we love wide angles to capture your surroundings — considering we live in such a beautiful place there’s no other way to capture it!

we are a lover of neutrals and pastels, and you can see in our portfolio we follow through with that.
