simply put – we pop a cake in front of your kiddo, and let them go absolutely nuts with cake..
we don't just shoot for one year olds; we can do any age!
the best part about a smash session, no clean up for you! come to the studio and make all the mess possible, we’ll do the rest after the session is complete!

you’re more than welcome to bring two sets of clothing for variety, and we’ll start off with birthday portraits before the messy chaos begins.

HOW DOES BOOKING IN WORK?
when you’re ready to lock in a session with us, send us a message with the birthday date we’re celebrating for and we’ll check our availability.
once we have the perfect date for you, we’ll require:
⋆ a $120 retainer (via invoice or transfer)
⋆ signature on contract (via email)
your session is popped onto a payment plan until your session date.

digitals are great to have — but nostalgia always hits better when you have physical prints!
we have printing options available for all sessions after your gallery has been delivered. as well as linen gift boxes + USBs in case you’re looking for extra safe storage for your images.

our sessions are held in studio where we can provide the perfect backdrop + decor set up for your session.
we also prefer being in our controlled lighting + studio environment which usually favours well for kiddos who may be a little shy at first, or to keep focus on the cake and decor without feeling too overwhelmed by other things around them.

you should book in for 2 weeks prior to bub’s birthday.
we take bookings up to 3 months in advance, with recommendations to book in 6-8 weeks in advance.

we can do cake smashes at any age! however the bubble bath component is only available for one year olds.
we replace that part of your session with extra photos on your backdrop — and for adults even do a champagne spray!

we do try our very best to make kiddos comfortable during your session.
if they do get upset and we’ve exhausted every measure possible, we will reschedule your session to the next possible date for the both of us.
sometimes kids do get overwhelmed, are teething + don’t want to smile or play the game on the day. and that’s okay!
